Introduction of the Department
Situated in the famous historical and cultural city of Changsha, Central South University (CSU) is a comprehensive and national key university under the direct administration of the Ministry of Education of China. The University is among the first group admitted into both Project 211, a project of building national key universities and colleges for the 21st century, and Project 985, a joint constructive project of building world-class universities co-sponsored by the Chinese central government and local governments.
Department Achievements
Xiangya Medical College is one of 23 colleges which are the first to set master\'s degree and doctoral degree in clinical medicine and is also the first batch of hospital training base, physician physician and clinical pathology standardized residents training base conferred by the Ministry of health. In 2000, nursing major was conferred to enroll graduate students. Nursing is the provincial key discipline in Hunan Province and is also the first-level discipline, where established the first branch doctoral research mobile station in 2012.
The college established cooperative relation with many famous international universities including Yale University, Washington University, Queen Margaret University, Ottawa University etc to cultivate graduates together.
Faculty
There are total 80 teaching staffs, among whom, there are 18 professors and 30 associated professors, 7 doctoral tutors and 23 master’s tutors, 22 teachers holding doctor degree.
The specialty can be conducted in English with a prerequisite of a minimum number of 10 students for Master\'s degree.
